Men’s Wrinkle Relaxers

One of the easily reversible signs of aging is wrinkle formation also known as “static and dynamic wrinkles”. These develop as a result of repeated use of facial muscles, along with the loss of the skin’s elasticity subcutaneous fat and collagen stores. For men, some of the more common areas of treatment include the forehead, crow’s feet and vertical frown lines between the brows.

Anti-wrinkle injections are used on specific facial muscles and work by temporarily reducing the movement of the area. This allows the skin a chance to recover and wrinkle lines to soften very significantly.

What areas are normally treated with anti-wrinkle injections?
Common places for treatment include, but are not limited to:

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Corners of the mouth
  • Gummy smiles
  • Lines underneath the eyes
  • Jowls
  • Chin creases
  • Neck sagging
  • Excess Sweating
  • Migraines and Headaches
  • Teeth grinding

What is involved in the procedure?
Our expert Doctors will meet with you to discuss your concerns and recommend the best treatment options for you in a safe and private environment. The treatment is safe and can take as little as a few minutes per area. No anaesthetic is required however your skin can be numbed with ice prior to the procedure. The treatment is relatively pain free and there is no down time following the procedure. The results are seen gradually between 2 to 10 days following treatment.

Are there any side effects?
Side effects are extremely rare. Anti-wrinkle injections have been used medically for a range of conditions outside cosmetic medicine since the 1970’s. Some of the rare side effects may include temporary mild weakness of the adjacent muscles, headaches, tingling, swelling, itching and bruising.

How long will the results last?
The time differs between individuals but typically the treatment will last anywhere between 3 to 5 months. For some, regular anti-wrinkle injections increase the longevity of the treatment effects enabling time between each treatment to be extended. Should you decide to stop wrinkle treatment, there will be no permanent side effects and your muscles will eventually return to normal activity.
